Our Story
Our story began in 1987 when Eugene joined the family business, ItalProducts, founded by his father, Ross Gigliotti. ItalProducts specialised in importing and distributing a wide range of goods from Italy and Spain, with toys playing a central role in its success. This early exposure to the world of toys sparked a lifelong passion in Eugene, laying the foundation for what would become a decades-long journey in the industry.
After ItalProducts, Eugene ventured off paving his own path, starting his first company Toy Group Australia. Starting off importing, Eugene soon migrated his work to China, assisting factories in improving quality and designs for the Australian and US markets. At the time, TGA was the biggest licensee across all categories, consumer electronics, luggage and travel, toys, sporting goods, electric ride-ons and all wheel goods. TGA represented some of the worlds biggest brands, including LEGO, leading as the global licensee in storage, display and stationery. After the sale of TGA, Eugene helped bring new innovation to a brand building company called Funtastic, assisting in further developing different parts of their toy portfolio, whilst continuing the LEGO business, expanding the range, and famously inventing the LEGO head sorter.
In between Funtastic and Plan B, Eugene helped bring non-competing products to market through consulting, working with the famous Aussie Wahu brand, also expanding into hardware and shopfitting supplies.
Where we are at
Eugene then started Plan B in 2013, giving him the flexibility to return to exploring new categories and innovating products. With such a rich history in the industry, the business was also started so the family could also continue in the business. The Gigliotti’s, are one of the only families with the 3rd generation in the industry, recently introducing Eugene’s sons Max and Anton.
Our core offering includes toys for all ages, from fun-filled impulse toys to an extensive collection of ride-ons, with ride-ons being apart of our heritage, playing a key role in Eugene’s early work at ItalProducts. Beyond toys, we offer a growing selection of outdoor and lifestyle products, as well as a dedicated gaming range and a variety of consumer electronics.
